' From Womb to What??? My Life as a Mythopoeic poet"....That's what I wrote when it came time to tell my story.

Growing up in Oregon, I was the outdoor, adventurous type. I had no thoughts of becoming a poet, no desire to take any writing classes, and no idea what iambic pentameter meant. I do not sit down daily to write poetry. The poem, when inspiration hits, flows from the center out complete.  How does one explain that?

Discovering the work of Joseph Campbell, a professor of comparative mythology and religion, gave me the words I needed to describe my poetry. An finding out that there are only a handful of female Mythopoeic poets made it important to share my personal journey. I hope it will inspire you on yours.
